A muddy-paw reset is a small entryway routine for wet walks, damp yards, and the moment a dog comes inside before the floor is ready.

Create a landing zone

Choose one spot by the door for paw cleanup. Keep it simple: a mat, a towel, and the tool you actually use.

Make cleanup happen before the dog spreads out

The fastest routine is the one that happens right at the door. Keep the paw rinse cup and towel close enough that you do not need to leave the entryway.

Reset the station after use

Hang or move damp towels, empty water when needed, and put the cup back where the next walk starts.

  • Keep one towel assigned to the door.
  • Use a washable mat or tray under the cleanup zone.
  • Do not let damp gear sit in a closed basket.
